Big boned, chubby, thick (and more things I've been called)
As a gal who has been considered "big boned" (80s), "chubby" (90s), "curvy" (00s), "thick" (2010s), and "maybe it's still baby weight or is she pregnant AGAIN?" (2020s).... it's a big deal for me to openly talk about my intention to lose weight - as I revealed in last week's Email.
In addition to adjustments I've already made to reduce my sugar intake, upping my strength training, and other "clean eating" choices; this week, I will officially begin my Hers Weight Loss* journey.
Let's talk about it.
For many years, being confident in spite of being (see all " " above) has been my trademark. Let me be clear, I celebrate bodies of all shapes, sizes, colors, and weights. You do you.
But, the science shows that - for me, right now, I need to lower my body weight and body fat so that I can have a healthy heart, healthy bones/joints, and live to 100+. How else will I fulfill the dream of being a dancing grandma meme that so many people share in my DMs with "this is you at 90" messaging?
Also, let's be honest, I am so positive about the enormous future of DivaDance, that there's no way I'm trying to die before we've reached our potential. That would suck.
So - thanks for the encouragement, thanks for all the responses sharing your own personal commitment to your health, and thanks to those who already said they are with me on this journey - LFG!
