Can a dance class change the world?

I feel like we all could use a hug right about now (I'm a hugger). The news of what's happening across the world is so hard to read and watch, and it's impossible (and inappropriate) to act like everything's fine (cue this giphy).

So today, I'm coming to you with a big reflection - what we are doing at DivaDance is so important.  While booty popping and hair tossing in and of themselves are not "important" per se (I do twerk like my life depends on it sometimes), at the most basic level, DivaDance classes leave people feeling GOOD, and I think a lot about the ripple effects of feeling good.

  • Makes you a nicer driver

  • You give more grace to the server

  • More likely to say hello to a stranger

  • Kinder to a colleague in a meeting

  • Less grumpy of a partner or parent

And here's where things get really, really big.

All those drivers, servers, strangers, colleagues and partners - they too then go out and are nicer, more grace-giving, kinder, friendlier, and less grumpy to everyone they encounter, too.

Holy shit. Think about that. When you feel good and you treat others better, you could quite literally change the world.

So, for today, let's put aside Profit & Loss statements, revenue, membership sales, Google reviews, franchises sold, and paycheck size - and let's be thankful that simply by showing up to a dance class and being part of our community, we could have a major, positive impact on everyone around us.
