Let it goooo, Let it go ❄️
You know what's weird? Today we had an Instagram Live on DivaDance HQ IG to drop info on Slaycation (our annual convention) and I wasn't on it....
....and it was even better than if I had been. Don't believe me, just watch.
It was informative, entertaining, organized, interactive — it truly captured the essence of the event and I hope that it makes our community want to "drop deposits" (IYKYK) and come spend their weekend with us in September in Vegas!
So... like... lemme just be clear about what this means:
I have people on my team that I trust (huge!) Major 💐 flowers to Ryann, our Brand Marketing Manager, and Jonathan, Tadara, and Kylie from our team. They are passionate about our mission and take pride in the brand and in doing a great job. What more could I ask?
I can reallocate the time I would normally have spent preparing, organizing and starring in it to other priorities (OK I'm just relaxing in my hotel room while still watching the live but STILL- I COULD have!)
But seriously, THIS is how we're going to build a very big brand. By having a great, great team — not by Jami trying to do everything herself.
For those of you who have ever done any weight loss things, they talk about "Non Scale Victories" - like your pants fitting better or your energy level increasing, even if the scale doesn't move. This Slaycation info drop was a Non Scale Victory for me. Identifying the parts of your business that you don't HAVE to micromanage or be the ONLY person to handle it - it's liberating. One of my favorite mottos - I can do anything, but I can't do everything.
And as a recovering control freak enthusiast, it took me a long time to learn accept that other people could be just as capable and competent as I am - and in the DivaDance HQ team's case - often even more so.
So if you're holding on to something that you could embolden a member of your team or someone else in your life to take the lead on - in the words of my 3 year old singing Frozen... Let it goooooo Let it goooooo! 🎵
And now that is stuck in your head - have a good weekend!
