good, bad, and strug-gly
When you joined my newsletter, I promised the good, the bad, and the strug-gly. Today you get all three.
First, the good, because I'm a diet-coke-half-full kinda girlie. Today we awarded a 2-unit franchise deal to an absolutely amazing woman (with a terrific support system behind her!) She is going to launch in the Charlotte area this Fall and I can't wait to see that community thrive under her leadership! I LOVE helping women start their own business, especially ones looking to create freedom, flexibility, and financial abundance for their families!
The bad is that I had to decline a couple of aspiring BossBabes because it just wasn't the right fit - for them or us. This is so hard for a Franchise Founder because you need franchisees to help your brand grow, but you have to be selective about WHO so that you can grow responsibly. Creating a meaningful experience for our owner community is so important to me and that starts with the right people in those seats. I hate telling someone no, but sometimes you have to.
The strug-gly for me this week: Guys, my brain is full. There are so many things we could do... should do.... need to do.... I want to do. And when I start to think about how to do-all-the-things it's easy to get overwhelmed. And the bigger our company gets, the more complex the challenges (and opportunities) become. Everything is connected. The stakes are higher. The process takes longer.
I had a moment of overwhelm this week when I literally just closed all the tabs in my browser and said "fuck it" — And I did. And I survived. I don't even remember which tabs I had open.
So if you're feeling anything similar, this is the permission you needed to just close all your tabs and enjoy your weekend✌️
