I took nine puppies
This is actual footage of my life right now.
This is from one of my favorite scenes in Bridesmaids where Melissa McCarthy, when asked how many puppies she took home with her from the bridal shower, says:
"I took nine. Yeah. I did slightly overcommit to the whole dog thing. It turns out I'm probably more comfortable with six."
Lemme hear you say "Woof" if you can relate.....
I'm writing you in the final hour before our first ever LEVEL UP RETREAT, where franchise owners converge on Austin for a day of inspiration, motivation and community. After I put my younger daughter to bed last night, I worked until late in the night to finish preparing for today. And I got up early. And, truthfully, I just finished right before I opened this email to write. The stakes are high - I take our owners' goals and dreams very seriously. 🐾
Yesterday we wrapped up our first ever BOSSBABE BOOT CAMP (which was epic and I can't wait until the next one in 2024!) We welcomed 4 aspiring franchise owners to DivaDance HQ to immerse in our culture, set goals, and gain clarity for their future. Giving these gals a great impression meant a lot of preparation, thought, and action to deliver that champagne quality experience we want for our owners! 🐾
Last week we had our first ADVISORY BOARD meeting, which consisted of 2 days of who I'm calling "grown ups" (aka people more experienced in business than I am) looking deeper into our company, asking questions, helping us future-proof some things, and coaching me all along the way. I'm grateful these folks took an interest in our business and know they will have a big impact. 🐾
This weekend we have a Leadership Development weekend in Austin for folks from all across the company - I love leading leaders. Truthfully, I haven't finished all my material for the weekend, but I'll be ready. 🐾
We're starting a major technology migration planning session next week - which requires a lot of headspace. 🐾
It's also my daughter's birthday. And you better believe nothing was going to come in front of making it the most magical 3rd birthday a mini me has ever seen! Anna and Elsa visited her at our birthday at the Zilker Botanical Garden butterfly gazebo, the cake was flawless, the perfect outfit was curated. Hearing her sing "Let It Go" at the top of her lungs - worth every dollar and minute. 🐾
:::::::takes a deep breath after re-reading everything above:::::::::
So, sometimes we just do too much. But when you love what you do, the people you do it with, and the people you do it for - it's hard to say no to all the puppies.
I have no advice for you today, just wanted to share my current state of WOOF.
