Stronger than yesterday 🎶
This week I lifted and carried a watermelon 100 pound sandbag in my strength training class.
This sounds awesome right?
Absolutely not. I felt frustrated, tired, fat, old, stiff, and weak while I carried it. And by carried it, I mean held-it-tightly-aginst-my-body-and-prayed-it-didn’t-drop.
As I finished my turn, the coach for the class (who just recently won a Strongwoman contest in Austin - she’s a Bad B) said as she celebrated me:
“We never feel strong while we’re getting stronger.”
🤯 What. 🤯
I couldn’t stop thinking about this the rest of the workout —and ever since.
And guess when I DO feel strong?
The next day when I woke up and I was sore in a good way.
When carrying my toddler was easier and lighter.
When I carried a bunch of stuff from my car to my garage with ease.
When I signed up for my next class, actually excited to go face to face (or belly to bag) with my next 100 pound sandbag.
This is so similar to doing anything HARD in life or business.
While you’re learning, you may not feel smart.
While you’re saving, you may feel broke.
While you’re trying to get ahead, you may feel behind.
So hang in there and trust the process - with whatever weight sandbag you’re currently lifting!
