What if you fail?

It's new franchise owner training at HQ this week! I love getting to welcome our newest BossBabes to our office and flagship studio — spending time with people IRL is my favorite (and I'm a hugger.)

In the process of franchisee selection, we spend a lot of time dreaming — talking about what being a business owner will do for your life, how it will create freedom and flexibility, and the potential for the business to help you create financial abundance (whatever that means to you!) I LOVE asking potential BossBabes to share their biggest dreams with me - and then let's figure out how DivaDance ownership can get you there. We laugh, smile, gush, pop virtual confetti, spray each other with champagne and unicorns fly across the screen ✨ 🌈 🦄

.... but then I like to hit them with a different scenario....

Let's assume you fail. 😱

Wait, what? Yep - let's assume your business fails, and let's do a Premortem. A Premortem forces you to think about what could happen and to make a plan before you start —as opposed to a Postmortem where it's too little, too late.

Fears like "what if the studio burns down" are easy to reassure with humor, but bigger concerns like "what if my members cancel?" or "what if I'm not making a profit?" are not only valid, they are situations we've seen before — and we have proven contingency plans for every scenario. Just another reason why being part of a franchise system is so great.

List all things you're scared about, what could go wrong, signs and symptoms to look for along the way — what you're going to do instead, or how you're going to fix it when you do see it happening.  This is not only a powerful exercise because it allows you to address, head-on, the fears you may have - but it also emboldens you to make the right moves - early and often.

But I also want you to remember - what if none of those things happen? what if you don't fail? what if it all works out?

What if unicorns DO fly across the screen? ✨ 🌈✨ 🌈✨ 🌈✨ 🌈✨ 🌈🦄
